ABOUT DEPARTMENT OF FINANCE

Commencing its journey in the academic year 2004-05, the department embarked on a transformative path by introducing the Bachelors of Accounting and Finance program, with an inaugural cohort of thirty students. What followed was a decade of exponential growth and advancement, as the department expanded its horizons to encompass innovative programs that responded to the evolving demands of the financial landscape.

In 2008-09, the department further elevated its offerings with the introduction of the Bachelors of Financial Market program, a strategic move that empowered students with specialized knowledge in the intricacies of financial markets. Subsequently, in 2014-15, the addition of the Bachelors of Investment Management program solidified the department’s commitment to equipping students with the skills to navigate the complex world of investment.

The remarkable journey from its inception to accommodating a thousand students is a testament to the department’s dedication to providing quality education that resonates with industry trends and demands. This growth speaks to the trust placed in the department by students seeking comprehensive and relevant financial education.

In response to the ever-changing dynamics of the financial sector, the department has consistently evolved its curriculum. The introduction of programs such as BCom (Fintech), BCom (International Accounting), and MSc (Finance) demonstrates the department’s proactive stance in preparing students for the challenges posed by technological advancements and the global nature of financial operations.
