ABOUT DEPARTMENT OF MANAGEMENT STUDIES
Inaugurated in the academic year 2008-09, the Department of Management Studies embarked on its journey with the introduction of the Bachelor of Management Studies (BMS) program, catering to an initial cohort of 60 students. Over the years, the department expanded its reach by introducing additional divisions for the F.Y.B.M.S program, responding to the growing demand for quality management education.
Recognizing the evolving landscape of education and its impact on sustainable development, the year 2014-15 marked a significant milestone with the introduction of the B.Com/BMS in Environmental Management & Economics (BEM) program. This forward-looking initiative aimed to equip students with the tools and knowledge to address environmental challenges while aligning with the principles of sustainable development.
At the core of the department’s ethos lies the commitment to enriching student learning experiences. This commitment finds expression through a range of events such as Seminars, Conferences, and talks, which provide students with insights into current and diverse topics beyond the curriculum. This proactive approach to learning fosters intellectual curiosity and prepares students for the dynamic realities of the business world.
The department is a firm believer in the power of practical exposure. To this end, it orchestrates industrial visits, job orientations, and placements that connect students with real-world business scenarios. These experiences not only enhance their understanding but also equip them with practical skills that are indispensable in the professional arena. Moreover, active participation in research, sports, cultural events, and other extracurricular activities nurtures their holistic development, creating well-rounded individuals ready to face challenges.
Going above and beyond, the department takes pride in offering five distinct certificate courses, each geared towards enhancing specific skills. This comprehensive approach to education ensures that students are not only academically proficient but also possess a diverse set of competencies that will serve them well in their personal and professional lives.
